CONTROLS & SHORTCUTS

Eclipse Animator controls, in context.

Find a key, understand its context, and jump straight to the creator’s explanation. A source-linked reference you can keep beside your timeline.

Search Eclipse Animator controls

This reference covers 15 actions listed in the description of just7’s Eclipse — Official Tutorial, reviewed October 16, 2026. It is a contextual chapter reference, not an exhaustive current keymap or a report of hands-on testing. Controls can change as the plugin updates.

Why one key can do two different things

R appears as rotate in the object-transform chapter and as field-of-view adjustment in the camera chapter. J appears for retiming selected keyframes and for uniformly scaling an object. Read the context column before using a key. A shortcut for a focused timeline does not necessarily mean the same thing in a camera workflow.

If a shortcut does nothing, first check which panel has focus, what is selected, and whether a text field is active. Compare the source chapter with the version you have installed. Do not repeatedly press a transform key on your only project copy.

Labels that need more context

The tutorial description also mentions resetting CFrame at 0:57, inherited rotation at 1:16, unparenting at 1:24, and an IK-related control at 1:33. Those labels do not establish universal keyboard shortcuts. Open the chapters to see whether a label refers to a button, toggle or key in the demonstrated context.

Follow a workflow, not just a key list

  1. Start with a duplicate rig or a practice project. The first-animation checklist gives you a small first task.
  2. Add two different poses and keyframes using the documented keyframe workflow. Scrub between them before changing timing.
  3. Watch the graph editor chapter at 1:06 to see how easing relates to the motion, rather than treating every transition as identical.
  4. Use the animation timing calculator when you need to translate a frame count into duration at your chosen frame rate. It calculates duration; it does not inspect your project.

Windows, Mac and custom settings

These entries preserve the creator’s labels. We have not verified a complete Mac-specific keymap, so we do not automatically substitute Command for Ctrl. Check the current plugin settings and the tutorial when a platform shortcut differs. Custom keybinds, if configured in your setup, may differ from this reference.
